We do not typically hold in-person meetings but have myriad ways to volunteer throughout the school year. What is the mission of the PVO? The mission of the PVO is to build community at Axios by fostering relationships and encouraging families, faculty, staff, and students through prayer and action. What does the PVO do? Lots! This year, some of the events and activities we are responsible for are Harvest Hangout (all-school fall festival), Lunch Duty (we provide volunteers so that a hot lunch option can be offered), Christmas Decorating, Quarterly Lower School socials, Weekly Prayer Team meetings, Faculty & Staff Appreciation Week (February), Special Speaker events, Middle & Upper School Parent Socials, the Adopt-A-Teacher program and more! I want to help, but my schedule is busy during the day. Is there space for me? Yes! We welcome your help during the school day as well as after school and in the evenings. Depending upon the time you’d like to spend observing classes, you can expect approximately an hour on campus. We will start by giving you an overview of Christian, classical education (CCE) and answering your questions. Next, we’ll follow up with a tour to allow you to see CCE in action by observing classroom instructions, experiencing interaction between the teacher and students, as well as meeting faculty and staff. Middle schoolers need a positive place to learn and grow. They deserve to be known and cared-for by engaged and experienced teachers, enjoy small class sizes, and be immersed in a Christ-centered environment that will help them form their views about the world and society—and their place in it.
